Stay on the Right Side of PSSR, Without the Headache
One partner, three levels, one clear pack of paperwork. Sensible compliance that fits your site, not a box ticking exercise.
Stuck Between Insurers and HSE With No Clear Answer
Your insurer sends inspectors but nobody is on top of the schedule. HSE expects proof of compliance but you are not sure exactly what you need for your specific equipment. Paperwork is scattered across email inboxes, filing cabinets, and the desk of whoever was around when the last inspector visited.
Meanwhile, you are getting quoted for examinations that cost more than the machines they cover. You are stuck in the middle between insurers and HSE, and nobody is explaining what is actually required for your specific compressed air system.
That is exactly what PressureSafe is built to sort out. Not a generic compliance pack, but a structured approach to PSSR that matches the size and complexity of your actual installation.
PSSR Compliance in Three Clear Levels
PSSR 2000 (Pressure Systems Safety Regulations) applies to all pressure systems including compressed air receivers, pipework, and associated equipment. The regulation requires a Written Scheme of Examination for any system where a defect could cause danger. That is most compressed air installations.
PressureSafe gives you three levels so you only pay for what your site needs. Every level includes a clear pack of documentation: what was examined, what was found, what needs doing, and when the next examination is due. No ambiguity, no jargon, no chasing.
We advise sensibly, we do not provide legal advice. What we do provide is 45 years of practical experience with compressed air systems, a clear understanding of what PSSR requires, and the ability to coordinate between you, your insurer, and HSE so nothing falls through the gaps.
Site Review and Scope
We review your compressed air installation and identify which equipment falls under PSSR. You get a clear list of what needs a Written Scheme and what does not, with no unnecessary additions.
Written Scheme of Examination
We prepare the Written Scheme of Examination required under PSSR 2000. This document details each item of pressure equipment, the examination type, and the maximum interval between examinations.
Examination and Reporting
Examinations carried out in line with the Written Scheme. You receive a clear action list: pass, advisory, or requires remedial work. No ambiguity about what is critical and what is informational.
Remedial Coordination
If work is needed, we quote it, schedule it, and confirm completion. Level 3 clients receive a credit towards remedial costs. Nothing sits on an open action list without a plan.
Reminder Service and Renewal
Automated reminders at 60 and 30 days before every due date. You never miss an examination window. When renewal is due, we handle the scheduling and paperwork so it stays current.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need PSSR compliance for my compressor?
PSSR 2000 applies to pressure systems where a defect could cause danger. This includes compressed air receivers, aftercoolers, and associated pipework in most commercial and industrial installations. If your system has a receiver (air tank), it almost certainly requires a Written Scheme of Examination under PSSR.
What is the difference between PSSR and a Written Scheme of Examination?
PSSR (Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000) is the regulation. A Written Scheme of Examination is the document required under PSSR. The Written Scheme details what equipment needs examining, how it should be examined, and the maximum interval between examinations. PSSR is the law. The Written Scheme is how you comply with it.
We already have insurance inspections. Do we still need this?
Insurance inspections and PSSR examinations are not the same thing. Your insurer's inspection covers their risk. PSSR requires a Written Scheme prepared by a competent person, with examinations carried out to that scheme. Some insurers will coordinate both, but many do not. If you do not have a Written Scheme in place, insurance inspections alone may not satisfy PSSR requirements.
Do you provide legal compliance advice?
We advise sensibly based on 45 years of practical experience with compressed air systems, but we do not provide legal advice. We can tell you what PSSR requires for your specific equipment, prepare your Written Scheme, coordinate examinations, and manage the documentation. For legal interpretation, we recommend consulting a specialist solicitor.
What are the guarantees?
On Time Documentation Guarantee: your compliance pack is delivered within 10 working days of examination, or you receive a credit. Clarity Guarantee: if the action list is unclear, we rework it at no charge. Level 3 clients also receive an Insurer Rework Credit if any documentation needs revising after insurer review.
