What Procurement Managers Face with Compressed Air Contracts

1

Hidden mark ups and unclear scope

Parts mark ups that are not disclosed. Vague response time definitions. Exclusions buried in terms and conditions. The headline price rarely tells the full story.

2

Comparing quotes that are not like for like

Every contractor quotes differently. Different inclusions, different exclusions, different pricing structures. Making a genuine like-for-like comparison takes hours.

3

Auto-renewal traps and exit penalties

Contracts that auto-renew without notice, price escalation clauses that compound annually, and exit fees designed to make switching painful. None of which you see until it is too late.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your parts mark up?

We disclose our parts mark up at contract stage. For CompAir and Hydrovane, we use genuine OEM parts at authorised distributor pricing. For other brands, we source equivalent quality parts at competitive rates. No hidden inflation.

Do your contracts auto-renew?

We provide written notice before any renewal date. No silent auto-renewal. We also do not charge exit fees. If you want to leave, you can. We would rather earn your renewal than trap you into it.

How do you define response times?

We define response time as the time between your call and our engineer arriving on site. Not the time to acknowledge the call. Not the time to schedule a visit. The time to physically be there with tools in hand.

Can you help shape our compressed air RFP?

Yes. Our RFP Builder tool (coming soon) generates a structured tender document covering scope, SLAs, reporting, parts, compliance, and pricing structure. It is designed to help you compare vendors fairly and is not biased toward Airmech specifically.
